Look and Read/schedules/CBBC 2003

• no schools programmes were shown during the weeks commencing 17-Feb-03 and 24-Feb-03 because of half term

• Class TV ran a special week of back-to-back full-series repeats of various primary science programmes in the week commencing 10-Mar-03, preempting Look and Read. In the week commencing 17-Mar-03, Class TV returned to normal, except for the Look and Read slot, in which they were going to show the Own Goal (first shown Monday 9th October to Friday 13th October, 2000 on BBC2). Why they couldn't just show the rest of Legend of the Lost Keys first, and then show Own Goal a week later, I don't know. Anyway in the end they decided to postpone Own Goal to the week commencing 31-Mar-03, then changed their minds again and scrapped it altogether. Instead, Zzaap and the Word Master was repeated again (see below).

• For reasons known only to the geniuses who schedule the CBBC Channel, this story was shown right in the middle of the screening of The Legend of the Lost Keys detailed above. It was a fairly last minute replacement for the Own Goal (also detailed above).

• 05-May-03 was a Bank Holiday and there were no schools programmes. For the rest of the week Class TV showed Sign Language programmes for Deaf Awareness Week - there was no Look and Read.

• no schools programmes were shown during the week commencing 26-May-03 because of half term

• * - Words and Pictures: Magic Pencil programmes were shown at these times on Friday.
• ** - The 12:20 screening was a repeat of the episode from 10:30. There were four episodes of Look and Read on CBBC every day this week!

• * - Writing Across the Curriculum programmes was shown at these times on Friday.
• ** - The 12:20 screening was a repeat of the episode from 10:30.

• * - Good heavens this is complicated! But I'm going to give it a go: Two episodes will be shown on a Monday, at 10:30 and 12:20. The same episodes will then be repeated at the same times the next day, and this will go on for four weeks.
  

For three of those weeks, there will also be different episodes of this series being shown on BBC2 at slightly different times.
For the first two weeks, there will also be episodes of the other Spellits series, Spelling Strategies run in an entirely different pattern from Wednesday to Friday (see below).

• All three episodes will be shown during one week, then repeated the following week.

• This story was strategically scheduled in the week leading up to the 2003 Great North Run. The Junior event was televised on the CBBC Channel on 20th September 2003, the day after coverage from the Run of 16 years earlier was shown in Geordie Racer on the same channel!

• This story was originally scheduled to be shown from 3rd November 2003, but it was moved forward to this week in October to tie in with National Children's Book Week. The suggestion to make the change came from this very webmaster, I'm immensely proud to say.
• Class TV broadcast a special week of signed programmes for Deaf Awareness Week from 13th October 2003, and there was no Look and Read. For the following two weeks there were no schools programmes at all to cover the various half term periods.

• This story was originally scheduled to be shown from 6th October 2003, but for reasons detailed above, it and Dark Towers were switched around.
